We had an unforgettable day on this tour near Cluj-Napoca! Florin, our guide, was incredible—his passion for history made every stop come alive. Walking and talking with him felt like spending the day in a living classroom. Alba Iulia Citadel was the highlight for us. The mix of ancient Roman ruins, royal and religious history, and the lively presence of a modern university made it surprisingly delightful. Each corner told a story, and we felt completely immersed. The tour’s pace was perfect. We had time to explore what interested us, and moving between stops was smooth. As a group, we opted to enjoy a meal at the Citadel, which was delicious with exceptional service. Everything felt organized, relaxed, and thoroughly enjoyable. We’d highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience the history, culture, and charm of the Cluj-Napoca area.
We had a fantastic time on our hike in the Apuseni Mountains. The booking was an easy process, and our guide Radu contacted us right away with more information and details. The day of the hike Radu picked us up in Cluj and drove us to the beautiful countryside. Though people in our group had different fitness levels, we went at a pace that worked for everyone. Radu was a great encourager and a very experienced guide. Highlights include stunning views, a clifftop picnic, and stopping to fill our water bottles at fresh cold mountain springs.
We booked a tour with a guide, my husband and I, through a Romanian friend. The guide took us on a walk through the deciduous forest. We were lucky that it was a full moon, so we didn't need any lights. He told stories and local legends, as well as his own experiences, and showed pictures. He showed us strange deformities on trees in the forest and also the bare spot called 'The clearing'. He seemed knowledgeable and made sure that we didn't fall or get caught in tree branches in the dark.
This excursion was great! My partner and I went with Simona who was lovely, knowledgeable and loves her job. She is passionate about the bears and nature conservation. During our trip we saw 3 different brown bears and 2 foxes feeding! It was incredible to see up close. Highly recommend.
