- The hiking trip on Via Transilvanica can be customized and adapted to your fitness level and weather conditions. It can last from 2 to 4h
- A local family will prepare a delicious, typical Transylvanian 3-course meal with products from their garden and villagers.
- Depending on the hiking route, weather and season, we may also visit some Saxon villages in the area and their fortified churches.

Moments to expect
Hiking on Via Transilvanica
We'll drive from Sibiu to Biertan for about 1,5h. In Biertan, we'll park the car and start our trekking tour. We'll climb up the hill till its peak with an amazing panoramic view over the village and surroundings. Then, we'll continue our trail through a beautiful old forest till we get to Copsa Mare. Trails can vary between 6-9 km, depending on which one you choose.
Trail Length: from 2 to 4 hours.
Trail difficulty level: easy
Biertan Fortified Church
Biertan is such a lovel old village that preserves so well its former achitecture and the idyllic atmosphere. We'll have a walk around the village and also visit its fortified church (UNESCO patrimony). It's such a great place with so many interesting stories.

Copsa Mare Fortified Church
Copsa Mare is another old Saxon village with beautiful households and an imposing fortified church. Even though the Saxon evangelical community left long time ago, the village and church remains a trustworthy guardian happy to welcome its guests.
The church in Copsa Mare has preserved its gothic style, so if you dare we can also climb the Bell Tower and enjoy great views of the area
Home cooked meal
After our beautiful hike it's time for a well-deserved reward: a delicious 3-course home-cooked meal by a local family. You'll taste typical Transylvanian cuisine made with locally sourced, fresh and seasonal produce from the family's own garden or from the villagers. This will be a great way to finish our day trip.
