Moments to expect
Cooking workshop at a local family
We'll arrive in the peaceful Saxon village of Copșa Mare and step into a beautifully restored traditional guesthouse. Together with the local host, we'll prepare a regional starter and a local baked dessert using seasonal ingredients and traditional recipes. This is a relaxed and intimate experience focused on local flavours, stories and the rhythm of village life.
Village hike and visit to the Fortified Church
Copșa Mare is a quiet old Saxon village with beautiful traditional households and an impressive fortified church overlooking the valley. Even though the Saxon evangelical community left many years ago, the village still preserves its peaceful atmosphere and strong connection to its heritage. We'll have a short hike on the hills and visit the church, hear stories about the area and enjoy beautiful views over the surrounding hills.
Attractions included
Traditional Saxon lunch
After our village walk, we'll return to the guesthouse courtyard for a homemade lunch prepared by the local host. Alongside the starter and the dessert baked during the experience, we'll enjoy a traditional Saxon main dish inspired by Transylvanian cuisine and seasonal local produce specially cooked only for the guests of this tour. A slow and meaningful meal shared in the heart of the village.
Visit Biertan and the UNESCO Fortified Church
We continue exploring the region by visiting Biertan and it's fortified church, one of the most important Saxon villages in Transylvania and a World Heritage Site. If interested, we can expand our trip with an optional extra winery experience including a glass of local wine and a small cheese platter at the old Biertan Winery.
