Moments to expect
Excellent quality wine tasting
The vineyards of Dealu Mare are becoming more and more famous, especially for red wines. Here you will be able to taste a large variety of wines, from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to the Romanian Fetească Neagră, the most appreciated wine here. We will enjoy 7 wine tastings and learn from experts about each type, brand and production.
Visit a wine barrel craftsman
During our trip we will visit Adrian, one of the few remaining local craftsmen still making wooden wine barrels by hand using 100 years old tools. Prepare to see some unique moments! Exceptional home made wine prepared by Adrian himself is also on the list.
Meet the most welcoming and friendly local host - Ms. Catia
Somewhere in a remote village up on a hill lives Ms. Catia, a 80 years old lady who is so warm and welcoming with every visitor. At her place we will taste the most delicious simple meal, „mămăligă” (polenta), cheese and sour cream, stuffed peppers or „sarmale” (rolled cabbage). Everything is homemade with local homegrown products. You won't find better food in any restaurant with a more splendid view than from the top of the hill. Ms. Catia's house is a typical traditional village house and you will see true local life like nowhere else!
Using stones for music? Yes - at the Stone Museum
A Stone Museum exists where you would never expect: in the quiet village of Sangeru. We will go there and meet Lucian, the man who fell in love with beautifully carved limestones, shaped by time and his skillfull hands. We will also see how stones can be used for music! And, like any visit to Romanian locals, plum brandy, the traditional Romanian drink, is on the list!
